It's one of the oldest rural School in Howrah District. It was established in 1880. Now students and teachers can use buses, totoes, motor cycle vans etc. Once upon a time many students and teachers used mainly cycles. Most of the students went to the school on foot. The school is not situated in locality. Still now a few hundred cycles are kept in garages. It's a Bengali medium and Government sponsored School. It is affiliated by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary school. The school has produced great sons of Howrah District. The outcome is good.
