A must visit place if you wish to see why Delhi is one of greenest capitals in the world. You will. Feel as if you have come to a wild life park. Take our some good time in hand. Pack you camera and get the kids along for a good full day to spend here. Birds, butterflies, flowers, trees a lot to spend time on. A kids park if they want the regular fun and learning about nature when they are again ready. You can get your own food or visit the fab Cafe inside. Overall a must visit, and do keep half a day if you really want to enjoy the entire place. And yes don't forget to visit the bonsai section. Some lovely work by the experts there. Enjoy
A good place to spend some quality time with your friends and family. Summer evenings and Winters would be the most suited for paying a visit as the atmosphere would be low to mild cold. A great spot for having a picnic or to even take a stroll in the morning or evenings for people belonging to all the age groups. Great for young kids as well, plenty of space to play and have fun. A must go for people who adore the Architectural delight that this place has to offer. Tickets range from ₹40 (Indian Adults) to ₹20 (Kids below 12& Senior Citizens) and ₹200 for tourists.
Beautiful gardens. Very well kept. Beautifully manicured lawns. The only problem is that no hot or cold beverages are available inside. People tend to tread on the grass inspite of written instructions and request of the guards. Some people including foreigners had brought in snacks and cold drinks which I thought is not permitted here because of the littering it may cause. It would be better to have small kiosks for tea, coffee and soft drinks with dustbins to dispose off the cups etc. Now there's a kiosk here which has become bigger which sells tea, coffee, popcorn, some biscuits and a couple of varieties of patties. The place is as lovely as ever. By far the best park in Delhi.
For the natural environment I would give this place a 4 star, however, if you are planning a "picnic time" to spend with your family I would rate them a BIG ZERO as they do not allow you to play any picnic sports (and some security guards would often require you to stay off from the grass pastures) that one would usually play. This place is basically for one to go for a walk (on the cemented path) and spend some casual time with nature, maybe buy some plants if you wish to, and come back. But as a PICNIC place to enjoy family time, please select another venue which is more open minded.
things that can be improved first, Bonsai place was closed when I visited. Proper channelization of water isn't there. Water is stagnated at some places. The cafe inside isn't a good one. Now the positive ones. Well managed. It's too big, you find both human cared and natural parts in there. Washrooms are the best ones you would find in a public public place. Adults without children aren't allowed in children park. You see squirrels, peacocks, dogs and some more birds.
