Earlier called Serampore Subdivisional Jail, it is now renamed as Serampore Subsidiary Correctional Home. It was established in British colonial era, as early as year 1803. Located on Rishi Bankim Sarani, earlier known as New Gate Street, and visible from moving vehicles. Good security checks, with high walls. No parking space.

Established in 1803, it's one of the old Prison in West Bengal's Jail history. It's a Subsidiary Correctional Home( basically called, Sub-Jail). Situated beside the Hooghly river, near about 75 meters distance from Dharmatala more. It has totally been revamped in 2017 & inaugurated by the Director General(DG) & IG of Correctional Services Mr. Arun Kr. Gupta, with a modern security system. The staff is helping all the prisoners according to their security guide. They also helped their relative to meet with them through the interview room. Interview time 10 AM to 4 PM every day except Sunday & holidays. For interviews, relatives of prisoners would have gone with their own Govt approved any Photo ID card & one photocopy of the ID card.
