An easy going and accessible cave that gives a breath-taking experience of the limestone based caves. The movement inside is mostly easy but can be challenging sometimes This is not a place for claustrophobics but it is something you can go with kids and family and give them a lifetime of an experience. Entry fee is easy on the pocket but you have to pay separately for the cams. There are tube lights put inside the cave so you can click pics. It is such a thrilling experience to be inside there and at the end of the walk there is a like a opening that throws open natural light and is surrounded with greenery. This patch is absolutely cinematic. A good short cave walk and a nice experience.
Mawsmai caves make for a wonderful cave experience. Meghalaya is host to many cave systems and this is the most popular one. There are actually two caves next to each other. It can get a bit claustrophobic as with all caves but a lovely experience nonetheless. The caves are well lit for ease of navigation. I went with children and they absolutely loved it. Highly recommended experience when in Meghalaya.
One great experience. It's around 1km walk through the cave. It's damp and nest for bats in some dark corners. But the feel is different. The state tourism board have maintained it for tourist entry without damaging much of its feel. It is lit enough to enjoy the cave.
Here's to the ultimate caving experience. At first, the word 'caving' seemed a bit intimidating. But since I made my mind there was no turning back. Thank God that I didn't turn back because it was an exhilarating experience. It is all damp inside with a waterfall flowing above it. Water seeped through crevasses and made the water, pool inside the cave. The rocks of the cave had an exciting texture. There's not much difficulty if you are claustrophobic because because there are lights reaching almost every point inside the cave. There are some tricky paths in which you have to sneak through it and believe me the whole excitement lies there. Overall it was a great experience and I would love to visit the caves once more. Be it anyone.
I had great experience here. Every path is full of adventure. Sometimes it's sloppy sometimes very deep sometimes narrow. I had to crawl in fewer parts of this cave. People with cardiac problem should nit go inside as it is a but claustrophobic. Adventurous cave. Outside of the cave is also beautiful. Full of green plants. A little jungle. Inside of the cave is very dark in some parts.
