Even though it is the largest Mirchi Market in Asia, the way Product handled is very bad. I personally visited the Guntur Chilli Market and saw people literally walking on the Chilli. Being the basic Bread and Butter dont they have discipline to hand it more gently. Many even have the chappals and walking around for trading and buying Chilli. Don't people have the respect for what they sell or buy or trade. Again after all this they pack the Chilli in Gunny Bags with the least botheration on Hygiene. I personally felt her bad when people casually walked on Chilli inside the Shops and Mirchi Yard. Hope you all agree with me on the above basic requirements for any food related Product. If even one corrects himself on this i will be very happy on it. Let me hope I will begin this basic discipline in the minds of buyers, sellers, traders and every one who comes to the Mirchi Yard Guntur.
This is Asia's largest chili mandi(open market) which is available for trading of all kind of chillies. It's open from morning 6 to evening 4. But the major trading of chillies happen in the morning hours at 6-7.30/8. So if you want to buy chillies in wholesome quantities, make sure to reach there by 6. There are a lots of variety of chillies available in the mandi. Mandi comprises of 76+ acre area. So it's practically impossible to visit each place in a single day. So be specific on visiting with a broker to get hold of good quality chillies. Outside Vehicles doesn't have an entry, so you have to roam around by walking only.
