It is the belief that shri Ram leaves his body on this ghat on the way to baikunth.
It is a lovely place. Ghat is clean enough with boat ride for enjoyment. It has historical significance and temple is well maintained. Around major festivals lighting is also great :-) Nearby is Company Garden, some eateries and plant nursery. Great place to visit with friends and family. Just avoid going into water if you are not a good swimmer as there is no full time lifeguard.
