To reach Mall road, here here three lifts(one big-26 persons , two small- 8 persons each), working from 8.00AM to 8.00PM. Ticket Rs.10/- each, one way. Well maintained, manned always. At prime location, ample parking place at lower starting point ~
Ridiculously money making intention behind this than actually thinking about the convenience of the tourists. They could have made it free given to the number of tourist come over and would have hardly been a burden on state govt but no you've to pay both ways. I'd say take the stairs.
Himachal Tourist Lift is the entry point for the tourist lift of the Shimla town. The lift along with the head over lift bridge that connects the Mall road area to the Lift entarance are well built and is one of the spottable attractions of the Mall Road area.
