This is the renowned City College of Kolkata, located at Maniktalla. More appropriately it's is located opposite to Ahmerstreet Police station. Like other city colleges, the same building houses 3 different colleges in 3 shifts. Rammohan College in the morning, City College during the day and Anadamohan College at night. Apart from general education purposes, the college also houses various govt examinations. I would also like to mention that, adjacent to the college, there is a property known as Rammohan Hall, which is a deserted place and perfect breeding ground for anti-social activities. I have also enclosed pictures of the same to bring to the notice of the authorities.
It was established in 1881. It's an undergraduate college and affiliated by the University of Calcutta. It's premises has a historic importance. The College acted a great significance playing during Bengal Renaissance. In the morning section it is known as Rammohan College and in the evening section it is known as Anandamohan College. The distinguished ex-students are Swami Suddhananda, President of the Ramakrishna Mission, Soumitra Chatterjee, Actor, Laxminath Bezbarua, Assamese writer, Sakti Chattopadhyay, Poet, Haradhan Bandopadhyay, Actor, Mohit Chattopadhyay, Play Wright, Rajanikanta Sen, Poet, Bankim Ghosh, Actor, Jibananda Das, Poet etc etc.
