Gurudwara Taksaal Sangat situated in Sasaram, Bihar was established by the ninth Guru of Sikhism Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. When Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Maharaj, went on a journey to Eastern India in the year 1666, on his way to Patna from Banaras, along with Mata Gujri and other Sadh Sangat, made his debut on the land of Sasaram. Out of the preachers established by Guru Amardas Ji in different regions of India, Chacha Pagumal Ji was appointed in Sasaram for preaching religion. to meet him, Guruji's horse got stuck at a place near Chacha Phagumal's residence where tobacco was cultivated. The place was the farm of Jivo Mai and Bhai Achal Singh Ji. Guruji asked the horse to move forward but the horse remained adamant, then Guru Ji asked Jeev Mai and Bhai Achal Ji to stop this tobacco field and build a Dharamsala here, whose name would be Taksaal. To fulfill this wish of Guru Sahib, Jivo Mai and Bhai Achal Ji offered their fields to Guru Sahib. Later on, on the orders of Guruji at this place, Gurdwara Taksal Sangat was constructed.
