IT IS ONE OF THE OLD COLLEGES IN WEST BENGAL. THE COLLEGE HAS PRODUCED MANY EMINENT PERSONS. THE PROFESSORS SHOULD SINCERELY TRY TO AMELIORATE THE CONDITION OF THE AVERAGE STUDENTS. MANY STUDENTS CAN NEITHER SPEAK OR WRITE ENGLISH PROFICIENTLY. IT IS THE GREATEST HIDRANCE TO BAG JOBS. WE THINK THE COLLEGE AUTHORITY AS WELL AS UNION SHOULD GIVE A SERIOUS THOUGHT ABOUT IT.
The college staff is polite and supportive. The professors there are also very friendly. The only problem is the urinal is not clean so it might disgust some people.
This college is situated inside a heritage building and also within the famous “Boithakhana Bazaar”. Many legendary people have studied here. But at present, the condition of the college not so good though it always has many students than it can accommodate because it is near the Sealdah station. Boi para or college street, esplanade and many cinema halls are some of the benefits you get as a student. The college is famous for its strong union and past union fights. There are people who come here to train themselves at student’s politics at a larger level. On the bright side, the college has its own ground near the Eden Gardens. Also, this college is NAAC-accredited as B++ which means it is pretty good than many colleges. The fee is very nominal and there is a scope to waive off your fee too. This college has mainly all department with labs and well equipped library, it also has a computer training course from Webel, and this certification may be useful for many. During my study period, I have never seen anything violent happening here as compared to other colleges in the city.
