The place is really serene and blissful. The people at the Dargah are very helpful. The local market is great for shopping indigenous products.it’s really neat and clean . The ambience is aesthetically maintained. Transportation, food and accommodation are affordable. Nearby places include the world famous Pushkar shrine.
Make sure to visit this place if you're going to Ajmer for the first time. The dargah is a nice place to be, especially in the evening with the all the lighting. It was pretty crowded, but that is expected I guess given its popularity. There were people singing (probably Sufi songs but not sure) with a big audience. You could spend about an hour here.
Ajmer Sharif Dargah, Ajmer Dargah, Ajmer Sharif or Dargah Sharif is a sufi shrine (dargah) of the revered sufi saint, Moinuddin Chishti, located at Ajmer, Rajasthan, India. The initial structure of the tomb was made of wood but later covered with a canopy made of stone. The Mughal emperor Akbar built the dome around Chisti's tomb and reconstructed the sanctum sanctorum in 1579. Jahangir, Shah Jahan, and Jahanara later renovated the structure. The dargah was never systematically planned and thus has multiple influences of design and materials used.[6] An elegant covering over the dargah was constructed in 1800 by the Maharaja of Baroda.
