The School was laid foundation stone by a famous notable important educationist Sir Asutosh Mukhopadhyay. He was Vice-chancellor of Calcutta University and founder of Jadavpur University and Raja Bazar Science College. His sculpture was inaugurated by his son Justice Chitrotosh Mukhopadhyay, Retired Chief Justice Calcutta High Court on 28th July, 2007. The School was established in 1925. It's a Bengali medium, Higher Secondary and Government sponsored School. In the morning it is a Girl's and in the day it is a Boy's Higher Secondary school. The school has produced great personalities in different spheres of life. There are two large play grounds which are rare in Howrah. The school emphasizes on extracurricular activities. The football team and Scout group are very popular.
