It's one of the oldest Girl's High School in Howrah. It was established in 1867. It is a Bengali medium girl's school. It is sponsored by Government of West Bengal. It's affiliated by West Bengal Board of Secondary Education for class X and by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education for class XII. The result of class X and class XII is good. It has a good playground for outdoor games.
