Farhad Sajid – in the last week

worst experience i ever had the nurses who took blood and urine for tests mentioned reports will be available within 4hrs but we went next day we were presented with few of the reports and said one of the test is going to take 48 hrs they didnt explain it beforehand that this is the time you are going to require, plus they will promise you they will mail you the reports i didnt got any report on mail and in time have to call them to ask why there is so much delay i will suggest medicover to start training your staffs such unreasonable excuses is not something every patient is going to entertain after paying your high end bills. Really had a worst experience.

Day light robbery, that is what happens here ! My 12 year old was admitted for a simple appendectomy and we were charged a whopping 2.4 lakhs for 3 day hospital stay. Logic ? A mandatory COVID-19 NAAT test done on the child revealed positive infection. So, charges are increased by 100%. For a normal patient 1.2 L, but COVID patient will be charged 2.4L. Obnoxious !!! Let me narrate our despondent experience at this hospital in detail. We had to rush our child to ER where a quick scan revealed appendectomy is necessary. While I was trying to work with hospital staff for admission processes the ER nurse informs that a mandatory COVID test will be performed but conveniently information about charges for COVID patient requiring surgery is withheld/forgotten whatever the case maybe. We did not worry much as we were not exposed to outside world in last 5 weeks. In the meanwhile, ER nurse promptly puts him on canola and starts pain medication. An hour and half later report is ready and my child is declared COVID positive. Another 40 minutes later admin comes in to ER and informs about their "package" charges for COVID positive appendectomy. Now, he first calls the surgeon to confirm if he and OT team would be "willing" to perform the surgery. At this point I am wondering, if the surgeon refuses will they remove canola ? Or will they discharge with canola on so I can go to any other hospital ? Thankfully, Response is affirmative from surgeon and surgery is fixed for next day early morning. I have to stop here and take a moment to call out the utter inefficiency of hospital staff especially MOD - Rehamatullah who fails to give vital information to customers. Yes, I am using word "customers" deliberately. It is 10:00 PM already (mind you, it is lockdown in Telangana) and that is when our MOD breaks another shocking news that they would not allow attendant with patient and child has to be in Pre-op ICU for the night all alone. Hospital policy. No attenders allowed with COVID patients he says. I cannot begin to explain my misery at this point. As a mother, I am totally at their mercy. We had to argue for another 45 mins which results in a funny solution - we have to pay 50K in advance (I was using corp insurance cashless facility) and was given a twin room in a ward where I had to pay bed charges for myself too. Did you hear anything more ridiculous !!! Surgery went well for which I am thankful to surgeon and grateful to god. The one thing this hospital gets right is doctors and especially nursing staff is very good. Hospital has good marketing team. You will see posters everywhere urging to download "I Assist" app to avail "Hassle free services". After my encounter with this hospital, I realized I read it wrong. What they do is actually give "Hassles as free services". They kept their promise ! On the subject of this app - it does nothing ! App is supposed to allow you to raise issues, track them, escalate them, call via app and provide feedback. My issue on charges was "escalated to centre head". I did not hear from anyone. I reached out to admin staff and asked them to put me across senior person at hospital. I receive call from Bushra, who I think should not be in hospitality industry as she does not have basic qualities like empathy and patience. I tried to reason with Bushra that charges are very high and we ought to do something about it. Also, pointed to her that information on this ridiculous pricing was not provided to us at right time. Pat comes her response, "if you were not ready to pay you should have had canola removed from child and gone to other hospital". Hospital inefficiencies don't stop here, we are made to wait for 10 hours for a discharge. Disgusted, dejected, hapless and cheated, we step out of hospital thinking if these people get sleep at night. Do they have a conscience ? I am hoping hospital owners to look in to this. If owners are too busy making money out of people's misery, then God save us !
