The entire place is well kept to just give you an experience of the bygone era with an immense warmth. The hosts passion and effort to bring this experience to life is an absolute delight. The Maheshganj Estate in Balakhana is one of a kind experience... I, with my family, visited the estate in Jan 2021 and simply loved it…If you want to run away from the hustle bustle of the city life this is the place to be. Efficiently managed by its owners themselves, Mr and Mrs. Palchoudhuri, the homestay felt more like “home” than just a stay. The property is beautiful, rooms spacious with an old world charm, delicious home made food, with extremely efficient and cordial staff… Me and my family loved it all. A little about Mr. Palchoudhuri… he runs this place not just for profits but for his passion… he could have easily chosen to abandon this beautiful little nest and live a city life… but his desire to keep his ancestors history alive, made him stay back. When i asked him if he was happy with this decision… he said “he couldn’t be happier”… its his this love and passion for the place that you see and experience. A must visit. Nidhi Singh.
I have never been to this sort of property which offers nature along with all the necessary amenities of a homestay. The food offered was excellent, the ambiance with its old age decor awesome and last but not the least, the hospitality extended by the owners, Mr. and Mrs. Palchowdhuries was unparallel. I will cherish the memories of this visit for the rest of my life.
Fabulous heritage homestay. Serene, beautifully maintained, lots of greenery, warm and personalised hospitality and sumptuous food. Well worth a visit. Ideal place to relax with family and close friends.
Terrible place. The bathroom was terrible. The linen was never changed after use. The mosquito nets had holes. The food was simply terrible. Please don't be fooled by the good reviews. They are all fake.
