A Heritage & massive Portuguese fort built 1535.The fort is a large structure on the coast of the Diu island and commands views over the sea. It skirts the sea on three sides. Large number of Canons are mounted on the top for defense. Good Location and you can have beautiful scene. If you are going to Diu don’t miss to visit this place. Old heritage fort losing it's stature as many walls are crumbling. As situated on Sea shore good view can ve captured. Also not maintained properly and no one is bothered to keep the fort intact. As entry is free, anybody tress pass the location. Enough four wheelers parking is available for free of charge and some snacks shops are also available for quick refreshment. Thanks
Wow is the word. I consider it as one the best forts of country that's very well preserved. Although inside the forts the rooms and jails are destroyed but still it's a very well worth a visit. What should I say about the sea shore line. Mind-blowing. I fail to understand why we have not pushed this gem on national tourism circuits. Although I visited few other countries, I can surely say that this fort is much better than many abroad. Authorities should be more proactive in promoting this fort and our great history
