The building and the adjoining ones were leased out to the owners of Roxy Cinema and on expiry of such lease , a lot of controversy for lease renewal and tenant rights came up . The grand old Cinema Hall , a heritage structure has been shut down by the Corporation which has seized rights of occupancy. The building stands with a glorious past of Cinema History in Kolkata and the Cinema hall has hosted top artistes, dignitaries , and VIPs . Alas now these remain sax undocumented memories.
