One of the best schools of Midnapore town before the 'lottery' era, I am an alumni of this institute, I feel sorry how the best Bengali medium schools of Bengal is getting spoiled because of the lottery admission and mid day meal system. Govt. Bengali medium school's days are numbered, they are on the verge of extinction in the era of boastful money eater English schools.
My father Late Professor Amal Kumar Mukherjee did his schooling here.Later he moved on to Ashutosh College Kolkata for his intermediate and further studies.My father who was a lecturer of Bengali

Vidyasagar Vidyapith Girls' High School, popularly known as Bangla School (Girls), is one of the oldest school located in Midnapore town, West Bengal, India. This school has been declared as "Heritage" by the West Bengal Heritage Commission. The school follows the course curricula of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) and West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) for Standard 10th and 12th Board examinations respectively.
