Kamrupa Academy is a very old school of Guwahati. It is located inside a big campus. This is a government school of Assam. It is only 50 metres away from St Mary's school. Education system of the school is at par with other government and private school. Once this school had a great reputation. To get admission here was a tuft matter, but gradually the scenario been changed due to the hundred's of upcoming privates schools in Guwahati city. The school was established during the British period, so the structure of this school is old patterned. It has a looks of Bungalow house and the renovation works takes place every year to maintain its existence. The school teachers are very good and cooperative. This school also hosts many government examination for jobs, trainings and many others. Overall the school has a strong background of the past.
It is one if the important schools in Assamese medium. Many a illustrious alumini have studied here. But , more funds are needed to modernise the infrastructure to compete with the English medium schools which are mostly private and have better infrastructure.
