This is the oldest iconic airport of Hyderabad and has served this city/state for decades. Located right in the heart of the city, it is unfortunate that this airport has been closed because of the opening of a much larger Shamshabad commercial airport located far away in the outskirts. People wish if this airport could be used at least for domestic flights, which will save significant amounts of time and money for the middle class citizens. The approach road to this airport is popular among the locals. The approach road is very wide, long, straight, clean and well maintained till date and has a lot of greenery around. Every morning you will see lots of people jogging, running and enjoying the atmosphere on this approach road. It is also a good place to hang out or take a stroll in the evenings, because rarely any vehicles move on this road, which is a boon for the locals since all the roads in this area have heavy traffic. Overall an airport with lot of legacy, hope this opens up again in the future for the common man. If one happens to stay nearby, good to explore at least once since it is ideal for morning walks.
