It is great place near Pune to spend half day. Watching flamingos in nature is amazing. There are lot of birds species available to watch and enjoy. For amateur photography it can be a heaven. Lot of scope to take good pictures and save memory for life. Best time to visit after Mid December till January end. Good food options available as well with local touch. Enjoyable place with family and friends without much commercial activities.
Very beautiful place. You can see different types of birds in lot here in particular season. Better call the hotel cum organizers before you go there. They will arrange boat for sight seeing there as well as they arrange breakfast and lunch too. We can opt fish curry in lunch menu. You need to go there in early hours of the day. Late going may miss lots of birds and you can enjoy that beautiful place while sun rising only.
I've visited this place as a college trip twice and it has been an awesome experience both the times. The people are really warm and friendly, the food is authentic to the region. To start of with the main attraction of this place, you know you're coming here for flamingos but there's so much more that you can find here. The Boat ride itself is a great experience, specially when you go before the sunrise and experience sun slowly rising through the horizon. The beautiful silhouette created when sun touches the horizon and you could be there and witness through your own eyes it's amazing.
Amazing place with hundreds of bird variety. Better to visit during weekdays to enjoy the nature at slow pace... boatman was nice, explained a lot about different birds...and eventually took us to "bird show" which was spectacular.... amidst the natural setup, with sun setting in the background, birds display some cool formation in the sky....that you get to see only on Discovery and National geographic channels on TV.... worth a visit...best time to go there is Dec to March...
No maintenance, no proper approach road (Till highway its awesome), no lake side construction. Its just going on as it is. Yes you will see birds at proper time (Nov) with boat ride. But otherwise not that good.
