It is usually a neat and clean station where you could find people making use of the platforms for early morning stroll. At some times you can see stray dogs wandering on the platform. There are also large trees on the platforms (no.3) providing cool shade. It is one of the two stations that are available for accessing parvathipuram through railways.

The Bengal Nagpur Railway was nationalized in 1944.Eastern Railway was formed on 14 April 1952 with the portion of East Indian Railway Company east of Mughalsarai and the Bengal Nagpur Railway. In 1955, South Eastern Railway was carved out of Eastern Railway. It comprised lines mostly operated by BNR earlier. Amongst the new zones started in April 2003 were East Coast Railway and South East Central Railway. Both these railways were carved out of South Eastern Railway.

Its a big station and I found people of this area quite friendly. Mostly you will find tribal people here. You will also find coconut sellers in large numbers. Great place.

Good place surrounded by hundreds of villages.... Every moment the markets are filled larger number of buyers and sellers. Good market place, a lot of temples and movie theatres always find crowd... Good children's hospital and gynic clinics are there, most reputed among them are Dr.Bogi Eswararao and Dr. Padmaja. It's a hub for marketing of a lot of products.... It's very near to Orissa border and good communication and transportation facilities are available, we can find many vehicles and trains moving via parvatipuram.
