Great experience, must go once. Try to avoid this on festival seasons though(especially jain festivals) if you're looking for peaceful experience. There is lord mahadeva's temple through a narrow way is a must go place since less populated. "Dolivalas" over here are there for the people not able/willing to climb.the top place over here is 3750 steps away and a must have experience if you're a mountaineer. For best experience mountaineer's should drink water at foothills and there after at "jetha jethi" and then at the top. Nerby place for lunch is Hotel nandini for Good experience. And gopal lassi (blend of yougurt) is a must go for in the town.

The main Jain temple is on the Shatarunjaya mountain of Bhavnagar Gujarat. There are more than 900 temples dedicated to the 24 Tirthankar Gods of Jain. The Jain temples of Palitana are also called Took which is one of the five major pilgrimages of Jainism. The history of Palitana begins with Raja King Unad who fought against Sehor and Bhavnagar and defeated them. The temple on the mountain is dedicated to Tirthankar Lord Rishabhdev also known as Adinath. The main temples of Palitana are Adinath, Kumarpal, Vimal Shah, Sampratiraja, made of marble and plaster, famous for their carvings and sculptures, built in the 11th and 12th century. These temples are believed that these temples are dedicated to Jain Tirthankaras. Palitana believes that God rests at night, so the temple is closed at night. Palitana is also the only vegetarian city in the world. After sunset at the top of the templeonly God remains. No human is allowed to stay above after sunset.
