St. Mary's Higher Secondary School started functioning in 1894. It became a lower grade secondary school in 1907, an English Middle school in 1921and was raised to an English High school in 1924. It was elevated to the status of a Higher Secondary school in 1998. The former President of India Sri (Dr.) K R Narayanan was a former student of this institution. At the moment it has medium infrastructure facilities with committed teaching staff. It belongs to the corporate management under the Pala diocese.
