Founded in 2007, Kolhan University is a non-profit public higher-education institution located in the rural setting of the small city of Chaibasa (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Jharkhand.Officially recognized by the University Grants Commission of India, Kolhan University is a coeducational Indian higher education institution. Kolhan University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study.The Kolhan University was established on 13 August 2009 with 14 Constituent Colleges and 12 Affiliated Colleges in geographical jurisdiction of East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela Kharswan District with more than 80,000 students strength. The University is in the area of tribal region. Apart from conventional courses in UG and PG level including Medical/ Dental/ Engineering/ Law/ Management/ Education following Vocational Courses are running under the University :
