It's my favorite place. I used to live there from 2005 to 2011. Later I moved to Burdwan but I still visit Malda. It's a great city. You can find anything you want. It's developing at a fast rate. Previously there were few restaurants and inns but now you can get one on every road. Things are also easily accessible. Just that because it's a city, it's a little too crowded .
One of the biggest and busiest railway station in West Bengal as well as one of the four railway divisions in eastern railway.... provided with 7 platforms and escalators it's a really clean A1 category station.....for it being a division of it's own each and every train going through farakka-NJP line stops here....
It is a very nice place. There are lots of historic buildings.
Malda Town railway station is in between siliguri and Kolkata. So,it is kind of in middle almost. The platforms are well maintained, there are good quality waiting rooms, bathrooms, and seating arrangements. The security system is good as well. Also, you will get different kinds of eating items here. Most trains halt here for 10minutes or more except a few,so you will get few minutes to explore.
It's is the largest rail station in Malda District as well as a Division of Eastern Railway. All trains stops here. I visited this station several times. Lodging , fooding etc facelities are available here .
