Varkala Taluk Office was started only a few years back. Formally it was functioning in a rented building at Puthenchanta.Consequent on opening of the mini civilisation in Court road, it was shifted to the mini civilisation building. The office is spacious and staff strength is also not bad. But the quality of services is very poor and miserable. The poor people coming for various services are being directed to post and pillar. Even for Complaints there is no response at all. If anyone had approached with complaint on the past resurvey , which was done in a hasty and careless manner he or she can tell you a series of stories on how a government offices offers typical government services.
