Our Naregal town was the Historic place & one of the Educational Center in History. We have 12 Stone Writing Statues(Shasanagalu), thats why our Naregal was called as" NAREYANGAL PANNERADU" in old kannada scripts. There was a temple called "Someshwar Temple " it is a Very biggest temple in our area, it has 3 garbha graha, main garbha graha has mantapa, Shukanashi & main garbhagaraha with beutyful Shivalinga. and left side "Lakshmi-Narayan" statue of 4-5 feet black stone sculpture. Right side "Bhrahma Deva" . Both are in rectangular shape. and both are connected with secret chamber. Another attraction is our Pond called "Hire Keri" means big pond was utilized by formers of Naregal & surroundings with the help of underground cannels. but now a day it is split into 4 small ponds & useless. There was a outlet called "KODI" in second pond, it was used when pond was having more water, when it is opened some water flow through this & villages are become safe. This is built on Scientific manner.
