Old age pension should be given only to the eligible persons. Recently, monthly pension amount of the senior citizens had been credited to their respective bank accounts by the department. This time, some of the surviving senior citizens were removed from the beneficiary list for not renewing their cards in time. As they are old and inactive, department should take the sole responsibility for the card renewal and immediate action should be taken to give their pension as soon as possible. On the other hand, most of the Anganwadi centres in Manipur are not functioning properly, regular and strict inspection is required.
