Best picnic spot so far in Bhopal city. You can spend whole day there and have fun with family or friends. Best time to go there is winter season so that you can roam around in the sun and sit there to eat or play games. There are small restaurants and tea vendors inside the national park so there is no issue about food or beverages. You can also bring your own food and enjoy there.
Very nice pleasant place with full green and water on other side. Well maintained clean and tidy.. Though there are many animals and u can be lucky enough to see all but it doesn't happen that way.. Animals have big big areas where they are kept and thus their clear visibility can be an issue.. Snake area could be little better. Crocodiles are big but very far away. Small snacks options are available.. But yes a pleasant time to spend with family and kids..
You need to see this as what it is, a "National Park" and not a Zoo and then the perspective might change. The place is right after crossing one of the most beautiful places in Bhopal-the lake, but the lake continues on the right side across the length of the park. There is no safari available but is rather not expected given it was a zoo before. Van Vihar exemplifies Bhopal's serenity coupled with overall diversity of fauna that Madhya Pradesh offers to the eyes. Tough to review a place which can be spiritual in solitude and desolate the moment we demand tigers to come out and dance for us!
The location is really beautiful and the park is really clean. I have two reasons for not giving it 5 starts and those are: 1. The snakes were not kept in a proper surrounding. I felt really bad seeing them kept like this. When I visited the park, there were two Pythons and a couple of snakes. The box in which the Python were kept were too small for them as well as the surrounding environment in that box was not appropriate for them. The same was the condition with the other snakes. 2. The cycle service was not good at all. They had the cycle providing service there but none of those cycles were working. Apart from this, the place was nice and clean and all the other animals were looking in a good condition.
The best place to get face to face from nature every big species of Animal is present there and also so much mesmerizing roads to travel in zoo. Along the paths upper also travels besides us in the zoo. You can get a tour in safari , cycle,walking and you can bring your own vehicle also entry charges may vary and also not at all expensive. Best place to spend your Sundays with your family.
