It's a great place to spend a night on a short trip. The location is fantastic - on NH 117 facing the river. The hotel has been given a makeover recently and is at par with some of the better private hotels in Kolkata. The menu is limited but the food is quite tasty and reasonably priced. The only problem is with the service - the place would be really good if the service could be improved. Overall good value for money.
The best thing about this place is its food. Although the choices are not in plenty, whatever they cook and serve, they ensure that there is no compromise in taste, quality and hygiene. The rooms are significantly revamped. The river facing rooms in the left wing are surely worth giving a try, although a tad heavy on pockets. Overall, the place is tailor-made for a night's getaway
Our recent stay with family was very pleasant at the Sagarika Tourist lodge which has been out and out revamped and Beautified to meet customer needs of modern times. The food, stay and view from the room are all plus. The staff was polite and very helpful. They made our stay very comfortable. They should have more empty space and gardens to make it more attractive to the tourists.
Initiative of Government of West Bengal. It's a resort and have a dine in restaurant. You can book online also. It is the best place if you are want to spend time in diamond harbour. Restaurant is awesome. It is situated just in front of hoogly river and beside the Diamond harbour road.
Very cool laid back place. Good room service. Besides other food options, simple home made type Bengali food available. Courteous service. AC bus service to Esplanade is also available from the door step of the Lodge. Try and book your room from the West Bengal Government Tourism Site for best room rates. Try and choose a room facing the river. Excellent weekend outing if you want a quiet peaceful place to unwind. Try it you'll like it.
