Corruption of highest rate happens here. You need to wait for not weeks but months to get a bare minimum birth or death certification. The minimum amount they charge is 5,000 rupees. The guy who does is Maajid and he asks you to meet outside office and demands you to pay the amount. I wish I had informed Anti Corruption Bureau while paying the amount. They asked me to pay in cash. So I have no evidence to prove that I paid money. I wish someone reading this will do the needful. Thank you in advance.
It took 47 days for this office to give death certificate. I had to get recommendations and calls from GHMC office to get it done. God bless Hyderabad citizens with such lazy sleuths!
For birth certificate, you better visit as soon as you're told to visit. The office for Birth and Death certificates is in 1st Floor. The office is "officially" open from 10 AM to 2 PM only. Make sure you carry a photocopy of the Birth Report slip given in the hospital. They'll ask you to write name of the baby on it and submit. They don't enter the birth records online unless you visit and pay them 200 "Fees". Once the so called Fee is paid, they'll ask you to collect the certificate in a week.
The moment hospital tells you to visit and collect from GHMC please do it because they will submit for computerized birth certificate only after you visit and request them. It takes around a week. Service is fine
