Previously called Mission Hospital. This hospital has been basically a mission hospital, foundaton laid in 1889. Later on it was renamed as JLNM Hospital(Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Hospital)A new complex is under construction, one part of which has been completed already and is functional. previously only catering to obstetric and gynae cases(in missionary days)it now caters to all branches of medicine. Most people, who seek consultation at this hospital, have a difficult follow-up period. Most of the departments at the hospitals just have a skeletal structure – a nameplate and an OPD with a doctor or two at the most. For example, the Cardiology department has two consultants but no lab in place for the investigations required in this department.
