Station is Good for the local area residents and commuters from other districts. But people are waiting in a foot over bridge for the local trains towards chennai. There is no clear information about it. Yesterday i was visited the premises. All the passengers standing in foot over bridge to go platforms after announcement. It was terrible if railway employees give the clear cut information they don't want stand. It was really disturbing for foot bridge users.

The station was neat and clean. It was well maintained. People were really helpful in guiding. There are a lot of monkeys in the passway be careful while you're moving through the spot. The bus and auto services are on the side of 1 number platform and the parking and booking office on the 2 number platform side. There is booking office on either side . The enquiry is also available. The lift is available in 2 spaces and very helpful. It is wheelchair accessible and convenient.

Arakkonam Junction Railway Station is a junction in the Guntakal - Chennai, Bangalore - Chennai lines and the line between Arakkonam - Chengalpattu. Many trains have a halt here and many EMUs bound for Chennai Central/ Chennai Beach originate from this station hence making it a major junction. It also has an electric locomotive shed consisting of many locomotives especially WAP-4, WAG-5, WAG-7 and a few WAG-9
