Very enjoyable place with family. Rock cut temple were done during 600 to 700 CE. We can see the paintings of those days. One guide is explaining the details of the paintings with patient. We can spend 4 to 6 hrs with family. Children's park also well maintained.

This is one of the tourists spot around Pudhukottai. Good place to get to witness ancient drawings and also you definitely have to feel the vibration of the sound in the cave. The reason for just three starts is, there is not much additional attraction in this area and because of this the place becomes too dry and there is very less entertainment. But from a history perspective this is a must visit place for once in your lifetime.

If u are visiting Pudukkottai in & around looking for a good historical place to visit, you can add this to your list. You can do hill climbing, visit Samanar Padukkai, boating, children's park. When we visited, there was a guide available there to explain ancient paintings at Rock-Cut Jain temple! There are lots of peacock and monkeys, please be aware if you are carrying any snacks. Good place to visit with family for half a day.

Historical place but don't expect too many paintings and caves... It has very few color paintings at the top of the rocks which dated B.C. 7th century and a single cave mainly for meditation... Also u will see carvings of 5 Jain's
