Dear All, Just wanted to share an unpleasant experience with the office administration including Vice Principal of the school. I requested for a transfer certificate for my daughter some months back. On receiving the same I realized that there was a spelling mistake in my Surname. I asked the office staff to change the same and got a reply its ok and no one cares about the same. I accepted and proceeded with the admission in other school. The transfer certificate and marksheet was rejected in the other school mentioning that the details in the transfer certificate, marksheet and birth certificate are not matching and that is a must in CBSE ( I am not sure on this but had no choice as the new school administration was not ready to accept the TC) I approached the Modern School office and mentioned about the same. I was told that this is a normal issue specially with your surname and we have done three such mistakes since morning. For the benefit of the school I said I want to talk to the Vice Principal so that I can inform her and ask her to take corrective actions but the office administration was not in favor of me meeting the Vice Principal. I was told that she is not in office and when I said I have seen her I was told that she is busy in having her breakfast. I said I will wait till the time she is busy then finally they had no choice but to allow me to meet her. I thought the office administration did not want me to meet her as it could be an escalation against them. With a hope of expressing my concern and provide some suggestions I met the Vice Principal, to my surprise she was already briefed by the office administration and looks like they convinced her that I am coming with some wrong message and hence she was prepared with the answer. The answer, which I got was shocking. I was told that it is not a big deal for them. Well if to commit a mistake is not a big deal then of course she was not interetsed in listing to my suggestions on how to improve things. As I mentioned my daughter was not getting admission in a new school because there was a mismatch in the name in the birth certificate, transfer certificate and marksheets and instead of accepting to regularize things I was told that it is not a big deal. To err is human and we are taught in schools that we should not shy in admitting our mistakes and try not to commit similar mistakes in future. But looks like here the management does not believe in the same. Forget about improving the things they are not ready to accept mistake as a mistake. Regards Naveen
