Amjhar Sharif bears religious significance for being an important Islamic pilgrimage centre of Aurangabad. Located about 10 km away from Panchrukhia, on the Daudnagar-Gaya Road, Amjhar Sharif is the abode of an ancient mazaar (grave) of a Muslim saint – Hazrat Saiyadana Mohammad Jilani Amjhari Quadri. Thousands of Muslims visit this pilgrimage centre on the anniversary of the great saint, which is held in the first week of June. The holy hair of the saint is put on display on the occasion.

HAZRAT MAKHDOOM SYED MOHAMMADAN QADRI RA (Born 810 H/1407 AD//Died 940 H /1533 AD) born in BAGHDAD(IRAQ) He belongs to a respectable sufi family of HAZRAT GAUS AL AZAM SHEKH ABDUL QADIR JILANI RA(B /471 H/1078 AD-561 H/1165 AD) He was educated in BAGHDAD(IRAQ) and ADAN(YAMEN) . He follow the QUADRIYA Order of Sufiism. He came to INDIA Via KANDHAR /MULTAN /DELHI and reached to SURHURPUR near JALALPUR (DISTT AMBEDKARNAGER /U. P) After that He reached to AMJHER SHARIF (AURANGABAD DISTT of BIHAR) He came with forty followers and stay in Amjher Sharif and started preaching to serve the humanity. He died at the age of about 130 years in 1533 AD. The TOMB is newly constructed in the Year 2017 under the supervision of SAJJADAH NASHEEN HAZRAT SYED SHARFUDDIN QADRI SAHEB.
