Don't go with the name of the account posting this review because if a bad review is posted with the official account of the genuine student, he/she may be expelled and his/her career destroyed by the administration of this college. If you want an honest review, just check the number of likes in the reviews of this college, you will be surprised to find that the bad reviews have way more likes than the apparently good ones. The main reason being the fact that after getting a few negative reviews, the college administration has urged the active students of the college to write good reviews on google to get a good rating, and the students out of the same 'fear' mentioned in the negative reviews are writing good reviews forcefully. Pragya academy is a torture cage in disguise of a college. Now don't get me wrong, it is not that the faculties are not talented. They are talented and knowledgeable people but the very fact that ruins everything is their attitude towards students. They dishearten and put students who have great calibre into depression just because they may not be fit for mainstream engineering or even for petty reasons like scoring low marks in one unit test. They will grill the students to a point that the student loses his/her self-confidence. That isn't the right way to treat students. If a student scores low marks, he/she should be motivated and extra care taken to help him/her and make him/her start liking the subject. Being strict is completely different to publicly humiliating a student in front of the whole class for a low score. YES, they do public humiliation. The students with very good scores right from the start will have a great time here, but the student who fails to score in the initial stages, will suffer a lot, and don't think students with low scores are bad ones, the fact that Pragya only takes admission of the cream crowd (above 90% in 10th) of every batch proves that the students here are in no way poor in studies or not focussed enough. Poor scores in one test can be due to many reasons and in no way should that be a green card for the administration to grill the student to the point of depression.
As an alumni, I can firmly state that this institution consist of hard working and passionate teachers. At the end of the day, it's up to the student to extract the most out of the faculty. I think the results speak enough and if you are academically inclined, it's one of the very best institutions in Jorhat.
Pragya Academy is the best College for science stream. My favourite subject is physics because of the excellent facilities of the college. Maths and chemistry teachers are also best.

In my opinion it is the best institution for science stream.And the teachers are also very hardworking and friendly nature. They always keep ready to help us in our studies and also encourage us to be a good human in future.
