This temple one of tha devara hymns place. Srivanchiyam is a sacred ancient temple built during Chola period. There is a separate sanctum for Yama dharma Raja and people should worship Yama Dharma Raja before worshiping other deities of the temple.
Really very well maintained. The Archakar in Dharmaraja sannithi is exceptional. Young generation must learn from him. The -ve point is same; too many beggars around and using not good words while you are not offering money.

The large temple is located in a small village called Srivanchiyam, which is close to places like Nanilam and Tiruvarur. I have been a frequent visitor to the temple. As many people have mentioned in trip advisor the speciality of the temple is that it has a separate sanctum for Yama Dharma. More than that, the significance is that it is a Moksha sthallam. People seeking liberation must visit this temple and understand and experience HIM here. When someone in the family dies, it is customary to light a Moksha deepam at this place, thus helping the soul to get liberated. The temple is generally not crowded expect during festival occasions. Once a year a holy dip at the temple tank is organized and several people visit the temple, take a dip and pray to the lord. It's a very old temple.
