The College, located at historic Kherajkat Mouza, the birth place of the great Vaishnavite Saint Sri Sri Madhabdev, is well-connected with places of the state by roads and railways. The College stands along the NH-15 and the distance from the district headquarter and Narayanpur town is 45 K.M. and 10 K.M. respectively.It is a premier institution of Higher Education in the district of Lakhimpur, Assam which is established in 1982 and is permanently affiliated to Dibrugarh University, the College included under 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act 1956. The College has been accredited by the UGC-NAAC in 2017, becoming the first College among the newly provincialised College of Assam. The College imparts education in Arts and Science at undergraduate level in both Assamese and English medium. Besides, the College felicitates P.G. Courses under Directorate of Open and Distance Learning(DODL) under Dibrugarh University and Undergraduate and Diploma Courses conducted by the Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University.
