It was established in 1889 by respected Shri Barada Charan Bhattacharya. He personally spent about Rs 8000/- at that time. 125th year (quasquicentennial) or completion ceremony was held in 2014. It's Moto is "Jhikira expects every man to do his duty". Ex-students of this school have well settled in different spheres of life. The school conducts different government projects like Mid-day-meal, Sikhasree, grants for BPL and Schedule caste and Scheduled Tribes, distribution of medicines etc. Recently new buildings are set up, old buildings and school playground renovation, establishment of bust of Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar and Swami Vivekananda have been done using the fund of Sarbasikha, fund of MP quota and Panchayat. Sri Manimohan Kalya, Kedarnath Kalya, Sitanath Das, Prankrishna Acharya, Tarini Charan Roy, Kedarnath Das etc played an important role for development of the English language in this school.
