Kacharidol was a marshy area before it had come to present stage of well organised community fishery tank. The lowlying area was developed under world bank funded AACP (Assam Agricultural Competitiveness Project) programme. This project was implemented by Department of Fisheries in Darrang district of Assam, India. Presently, the tank is managed by a well organised committee comprising members from neighbouring villages Solpam, Basachuba and Dhekipara. It had almost unproductive land before being converted to a productive one and now it produces more than 2000kg of fishes per hactere per year under supervision of Department of fishery, Darrang. Apart from production point of view, the tank is situated nearby a river namely Nonoi and the place has its own serene natural beauty. People from surrounding places come here for picnic. From national highway, it takes 15-20 minutes on two wheeler. The road condition to kacharidol meen mahal becomes poor during rainy season as the road is narrow and not yet constructed scientifically. However, it is expected to have a good motorable road within a short time.
